Ecosystem Lead, P4 (Contractor)

Salary: $100,000 - $250,000 USD

The hirify.global is a neutral non-profit hub for developers and organizations to advance open technology projects like P4, enabling customizable network dataplanes for SDN.

What you will do

• Identify strategies to drive P4 adoption in industry, collaborating with members and stakeholders
• Drive evolution of P4 specifications and software with technical steering team and working groups
• Grow the community through events, workshops, developer training, and engagement
• Recruit new members, align project work with their goals, and encourage leadership roles
• Write and publish content to explain and promote P4
• Manage project budget and coordinate with hirify.global staff
• Travel up to 10%

Requirements

• Strong technical understanding of networking fundamentals (L2/L3, BGP, IPv6)
• 5+ years in networking industry in software development or research
• Passion for programmable networking, SDN, and P4; ability to learn, position, write, and present
• Strong teaching, explanatory, and communication skills
• Entrepreneurial spirit and hands-on approach

Nice to have

• Experience in P4 or networking ecosystems, community engagement, open source contributions
• Understanding of networking market from silicon to cloud/telco
• Work with smart NICs, virtual switches, overlay networking, or P4 research
• Passport/visa for unencumbered international travel
