TL;DR
Industrial Engineer (Manufacturing): Implement Lean Manufacturing systems to eliminate waste in production with an accent on safety, quality, efficiency, and resource optimization. Focus on designing work operations, motion analysis, standardized work instructions, and driving continuous improvement in throughput and productivity.
Onsite in Rochester, New York. Travel <25%. No immigration sponsorship (H1-B, OPT, etc.). Eligible for relocation benefits.
Salary: $80,700 - $109,400

What you will do
- Implement Industrial Engineering practices and Lean Manufacturing processes including GM’s Global Manufacturing System.
- Design safe, efficient work operations and maintain standardized work instructions via motion analysis and time data.
- Develop workstation layouts using CAD software and accurate part routings.
- Drive continuous improvement by eliminating waste, resolving bottlenecks, and improving productivity metrics.
- Support change management with line balance plans, production trials, and packaging/material flow solutions.
- Coach production teams on lean principles, lead problem-solving, and collaborate across organization levels.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering or equivalent + 2 years experience.
- Manufacturing experience with Continuous Improvement and Lean concepts.
- Documentation of Standardized Work procedures.
- Knowledge of time study and motion analysis.
- Ability to work any shift, overtime, and weekends.
- Must report onsite full-time to Rochester, NY; no sponsorship.
Nice to have
- Human factors/ergonomics analysis.
- Project and time management experience.
- Union environment experience.
- AutoCAD and SolidWorks proficiency.
