Salary: $110,000 - $160,000

What you will do

• Design end-to-end factory layouts, assembly lines, and material flow systems optimized for takt time, throughput, and safety including explosive handling.
• Develop production rate models, capacity planning, and scaling strategies tied to demand forecasts with bottleneck analysis and OEE targets.
• Plan capital equipment needs, ROI for automation, and phased facility ramps from LRIP to FRP.
• Drive lean manufacturing: line balancing, waste reduction, standard work, and performance tracking for yield, cycle time, and efficiency.
• Conduct time studies, labor modeling, and integrate with MES for digital production tracking.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing engineering, supply chain, facilities, quality, and EHS on production constraints and supplier assessments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related.
• 5+ years in factory design, line design, or production system optimization.
• Experience building production rate models, conducting time studies, and line balancing.
• Working knowledge of lean principles, value stream mapping, capacity planning, takt/cycle time, OEE.
• Experience supporting production ramps or factory build-outs.
• U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain DoD clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or high-rate electromechanical production including missiles or UAVs.
• Factory simulation tools (FlexSim, AnyLogic, Arena), ERP/MES integration, digital modeling.
• Planning greenfield/brownfield sites or explosive production environments.
• Automation integration and ROI modeling.
