Manager - Cash & Collections

Manager - Cash & Collections (Finance): Overseeing procedures to reduce unpaid debt, manage cash balances, and reconcile AR in a fast-paced SaaS company with an accent on collections, payment negotiations, and implementing tools/technologies. Focus on minimizing DSO/bad debt, ensuring compliance, and optimizing cash management processes.

Location: Remote from USA (CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, KS, ME, MA, MD, NJ, NC, NY, OR, TN, TX, VA, WA only). Unable to hire within Chicago city limits; must reside outside city proper or self-relocate. Not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Salary: $90,000–$110,000 per year (CA, CO, MD, NJ, WA, NY).

What you will do

• Apply payments, verify bank payouts, and investigate unreconciled payments
• Review accounts for collection risk, follow up on delinquents with customers/account managers
• Resolve disputes, manage payment plans, and negotiate payments with customers
• Monitor/reduce bad debt, DSO, and aging accounts
• Manage monthly close: AR reconciliation, bad debt calculation, cash/bank reconciliations
• Develop/maintain procedures, policies, and collections software/tools
• Assist audits, prepare journal entries, lead special projects

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in accounting/finance
• 3-5+ years in Revenue/AR/Billing/Collections at fast-paced SaaS
• In-depth knowledge of ASC 606 (revenue recognition) and ASC 310 (credit loss)
• Excellent negotiation/communication skills
• Regulatory compliance experience in collections
• NetSuite and Stripe experience required
• Must reside in listed US states; no visa sponsorship
