Location: Hybrid in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Relocation packages available for approved roles.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing geographically diverse FPGA team, fostering collaboration and providing coaching through 1:1s and performance reviews
• Own FPGA development lifecycle including architecture, RTL design, verification, bring-up, debugging, and deployment
• Monitor execution across projects, manage timelines, resource allocation, and alignment with program goals
• Partner with program and product leads to define scope, milestones, and resourcing
• Drive adoption of engineering processes, best practices for RTL, simulation, verification, and CI/CD
• Support recruiting, interviews, onboarding, vendor selection, and make/buy decisions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years in FPGA/RTL design and development, including 3+ years leading or managing engineering teams
• Track record building team culture, driving performance, and managing priorities through agile practices
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Proven delivery of complex hardware systems from concept to production
• Strong FPGA fundamentals: SystemVerilog/Verilog or VHDL, toolchains (Vivado, Quartus, Libero)
• Experience with timing closure, high-speed interfaces (SERDES, PCIe, Ethernet), simulation/verification (UVM, testbenches, formal)

• Space-grade or radiation-tolerant FPGA design
• High-speed data pipelines, networking protocols, satellite comms, SDR, DSP
• Heterogeneous compute (MPSoC UltraScale+, Versal ACAP)
• CI/CD for FPGA, scripting (Python, TCL, Bash)
• Fast-paced startup or aerospace experience, safety standards
