Design Release Engineer (Infotainment Calibration)

TL;DR

Design Release Engineer (Infotainment Calibration): Leading the configuration and release of high-technology infotainment software across various vehicle brands and global regions with an accent on software calibration packages and cross-functional coordination. Focus on developing compliant calibration files, managing change requests, and providing technical direction for global software releases.

Location: Hybrid (Must report to Warren, MI or Milford, MI at least three times per week)

What you will do

• Lead the development, implementation, and release of software calibrations for cutting-edge automotive infotainment features.
• Create and execute detailed calibration development and release plans.
• Generate calibration files compliant with releasing systems and cybersecurity procedures.
• Manage Engineering Change Request (ECR) work orders across functional engineering departments and assembly plants.
• Provide technical leadership, coaching, and direction to global teams outside North America.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of automotive electrical, electronics, or software engineering experience.
• Must not require immigration sponsorship (e.g., H-1B, TN, STEM OPT) now or in the future.
• In-depth knowledge of requirements engineering processes (FMEA, DFSS) and verification/validation processes.
• Working knowledge of vehicle serial data communications (CAN, GMLAN, LIN, Ethernet) and interface tools.
• Understanding of hardware design, failure modes, and vehicle safety requirements (FMVSS).

Nice to have

• 2+ years of experience with infotainment systems including Navigation, GPS, Bluetooth, HMI, and Audio Management.
• Experience with GM eMerge Change Management Work Order System.
• Proficiency with Jira, CalBOM, and Soft Part Release systems.
