What you will do

• Provide direct patient care focusing on evidence-based obesity treatment and chronic weight management, co-managing shared panels with APPs without your own primary panel.
• Review charts and conduct return visits for APP patients every third visit to ensure quality and continuity.
• Offer treatment planning and medical management support for complex cases or escalations, prescribing non-controlled obesity medications.
• Hold weekly 30-minute collaborative meetings and 30-minute asynchronous communication with each assigned APP for case reviews and mentorship.
• Assist in APP professional development through feedback, continuing education support, and fostering clinical growth.
• Participate in team meetings, ensure protocol adherence, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree, board certified and diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM)
• Minimum 5 years as attending physician in primary specialty
• Licensed to practice and prescribe in CA, IL, TX, MA, NY, or NJ; credentialed with insurance payers (strong preference for multiple state licenses)
• Experience working with APPs, medical residents, or trainees in clinical or academic settings
• Strong interest in mentoring, teaching, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including dietitians and behavioral health providers
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care
