TL;DR

Portfolio Associate, School Success (Education): Support grantmaking by sourcing, diligencing, and managing high-impact investments in K-8 reading and math programs with an accent on evidence-based curriculum, assessments, and student supports. Focus on building pipelines, synthesizing research and data, and delivering actionable recommendations using AI tools.

Must live within a commutable distance from the New York City (SoHo) office. Hybrid model: office Tuesdays and Wednesdays, remote flexibility other days. Some travel required.

Salary: $95,000–$105,000 base (top end for full qualifications), plus discretionary bonus, full medical/dental/vision, 8% retirement contribution, $3,000 professional development stipend.

What you will do

• Source and diligence potential grantees: build pipeline, assess opportunities, prepare data-driven memos/slides for leadership and board.
• Conduct research and analysis on K-8 education trends, evidence synthesis, grantee progress, and portfolio data visualization.
• Manage portfolio operations: grantee communications, grants system maintenance, capacity-building coordination, process automation with AI.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years experience in education, consulting, data analysis, impact investing, research, or product management.
• Demonstrated interest in student outcomes; proficiency in K-8 education (instructional materials, assessments, tutoring).
• Experience using AI for research, drafting, analysis, or automation.
• Strong analytical judgment, execution, communication, and relationship-building skills.

• Subject matter expertise in reading/math student supports.
