Senior Engineering Manager (Fintech)

What you will do

• Define and execute the long-term architecture of a multi-rail payments platform including Card, ACH, RTP, and FedNow.
• Ensure financial correctness across ledgering, settlement, reconciliation, and refund processes.
• Lead cross-team initiatives spanning product, risk, and finance workflows.
• Manage, mentor, and grow a team of backend engineers, establishing a strong ownership culture.
• Own the delivery of large, ambiguous projects from initial concept to production.
• Drive system reliability, observability, and incident response for mission-critical money movement.

Requirements

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience.
• 3+ years of experience managing engineers.
• Proven experience building or operating payments, fintech, or banking systems.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems reliability and data integrity.
• Experience owning production services with strict uptime and correctness requirements.
• Authorized to work in the US.

Nice to have

• Experience with payment rails (ACH, card networks, RTP, wires, payouts).
• Experience integrating processors such as Stripe, Checkout, Adyen, or bank APIs.
• Familiarity with regulated environments (KYC, NACHA, chargebacks, reconciliation).
• Knowledge of financial ledger or accounting correctness principles.
