Lead Hardware Engineer (IoT Hardware)

Location: Hsinchu, Taiwan; hybrid workplace.

What you will do

• Develop sophisticated circuit schematics and PCB layouts for new security and automation devices, ensuring reliability and scalability.
• Lead complex hardware projects from concept through mass production of more than 10,000 units per month, mitigating technical risks.
• Identify cost-reduction and performance-improvement opportunities through component unification and architectural optimization.
• Consult firmware and supply chain teams on hardware-software interfaces and manufacturing yield.
• Lead prototype bring-up, debug complex issues, and define design-validation testing protocols.
• Serve as a technical expert for R&D in Taiwan and mentor the team on high-performance design methodologies.

Requirements

• Expert-level calculation of circuit elements and high-fidelity simulation of device behavior.
• Professional proficiency in Altium Designer.
• Proven experience designing for LVD and EMC compliance and mass manufacturing, including DFM and DFT.
• Deep expertise designing both battery-powered and mains-powered devices operating at 85–265 VAC.
• Experience preparing production documentation, including BOM management, Gerber files, and assembly drawings, using Git for version control.
• Fluent English for technical documentation and international collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with managed libraries and 3D modeling in Altium Designer.
• Direct experience working with vendors and manufacturers for high-volume production.
• Advanced knowledge of signal integrity and power integrity, including S-parameters, PDN impedance modeling, and TDR measurements.
• Ability to write or review embedded software in C/C++ and STM32 for deep-level debugging and hardware-software co-design.
• Experience guiding products through global UL, CE, and RED certifications beyond basic compliance.
