Hardware Electrical Component Engineer I

Location: Onsite in Taipei, Taipei City, Taiwan.

What you will do

• Support new part introduction and alternative sourcing for passive, discrete, connector, semiconductor, and other electronic components.
• Create new part numbers, review and approve datasheets, qualify second sources, and manage component end-of-life activities.
• Develop multi-source strategies and support component lifecycle management, including compliance, BOM review, cost optimization, qualification, and reliability activities.
• Design portions of electrical and electronic hardware solutions, subsystems, integrated circuitry, and algorithms according to established principles and specifications.
• Collaborate with management, hardware design engineers, sourcing teams, suppliers, outsourced development partners, and ODM partners on reliable and cost-effective solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Typically 0–2 years of experience.
• Experience with or understanding of electrical design tools and software packages.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of electronic components, including passive, discrete, connector, and semiconductor devices, as well as their electrical and mechanical specifications.
• Understanding of component lifecycle management, qualification, reliability concepts, and supply chain considerations.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Mastery in English and the local language.
