TL;DR

Buyer II (Supply Chain): Collaborate with R&D Engineering and Production teams to ensure materials availability for quantum computer builds with an accent on RFQ/PO management, supplier partnerships, and procurement optimization. Focus on negotiating costs/quality/delivery, resolving discrepancies, and driving continuous improvements in sourcing processes.

Location: Burnaby, Canada

Salary: 55,600 - 83,400 CAD per year (Burnaby)

What you will do

  • Collaborate with R&D and Production to secure materials for production and experimental builds
  • Generate and manage RFQs and purchase orders for electrical, mechanical, and non-production components
  • Partner with vendors for competitive pricing, quality, and on-time delivery
  • Maintain procurement records and work with Production Planner on part availability and expedites
  • Develop supplier relationships, support negotiations, and qualify alternative suppliers
  • Support ECOs, interpret technical drawings/BOMs, resolve quality issues (RMA), and drive process improvements

Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, Logistics, or Procurement
  • 3+ years in procurement within Engineering or Manufacturing
  • Experience managing supplier relationships, ideally with Mechanical CNC and Electronics suppliers
  • Support for R&D, NPI, or high-mix/low-volume manufacturing
  • Strong analytical skills, ERP familiarity, Excel proficiency, and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving mindset
