What you will do
- Develop and execute global commodity strategy for photonic components ensuring cost-competitive supply.
- Build diversified supplier ecosystem with balanced risk and innovation focus.
- Cultivate executive-level supplier partnerships with governance and performance metrics.
- Negotiate global agreements for pricing, supply priority, and protections.
- Drive cost reductions via modeling, benchmarking, and design-for-cost.
- Mitigate supply risks related to capacity, geopolitics, and dependencies.
- Align sourcing with cross-functional product, financial, and technology teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related; MBA preferred.
- 8–12+ years sourcing optical components.
- Success negotiating high-value international supply agreements.
- Strong commercial acumen with cost reduction and margin impact.
- Experience managing suppliers in high-growth tech markets.
- Advanced negotiation and contract skills.
- Executive presence to influence senior stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience with photonic components like lenses, fibers, etalons, prisms.
- Make-vs-buy analysis or vertical integration strategy.
- Should-cost modeling and total cost of ownership.
- Telecom or hyperscale interconnect markets.
- Supplier Relationship Management governance.
- Geopolitical supply chain risk knowledge.
- Cross-functional leadership in engineering, product, finance.
