What you will do
- Identify sole-source components and vulnerabilities across mechanical, electrical, and RF hardware; develop and execute mitigation plans like dual sourcing or redesign.
- Interpret drawings and specs to qualify alternate sources and validate substitutions with engineering teams.
- Evaluate supplier technical capabilities, capacity, scalability, and production readiness.
- Support make/buy decisions, design reviews, and provide DFM/DFA input on supply chain constraints.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with engineering, SQE, sourcing, and manufacturing to communicate risks and tradeoffs.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs in Mechanical, Electrical, RF, or related engineering field.
- 5+ years in supply chain engineering, manufacturing engineering, or technical sourcing.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Experience across mechanical, electrical, and RF hardware domains.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supplier capabilities.
Nice to have
- Experience with RF systems, networking hardware, or complex electronics.
- Qualifying alternate components or redesigning for supply continuity.
- Familiarity with PCBAs, cables, machined parts, COTS components, and electronics.
- Experience in aerospace/defense or high-reliability environments.
- Supporting make/buy and sourcing strategy decisions.
