Lead/Senior Fire Protection Engineer

Lead/Senior Fire Protection Engineer (Fire Protection): Providing professional services including building/fire code consulting, sprinkler design, fire alarm design, and performance-based fire engineering design on local, national, and international projects with an accent on multi-jurisdictional building and fire code consulting as well as fire alarm system design. Focus on developing fire protection strategies, coordinating with design teams and authorities having jurisdiction, and leading internal and external design teams.

What you will do

• Manage financials and implementation of fire protection engineering design and consulting projects.
• Build client relationships by delivering tasks on schedule and within budget.
• Conduct building and fire code reviews, analyses, plan reviews, and site visits.
• Prepare and peer review technical reports and develop performance-based fire protection strategies.
• Coordinate with project teams, clients, authorities, and mentor colleagues.
• Assist with business development, evaluate facilities for code compliance, and perform calculations for egress, hydraulics, and smoke control.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in code consulting, fire suppression/alarm systems design, performance-based design (PBD) + egress modeling, AHJ plan representation/review, and fire/life safety commissioning.
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering (preferably Fire Protection) or related field.
• Registered Professional Engineer or related designation preferred; significant industry experience considered.
• Strong analytical and creative thinking with ability to present clear fire protection strategies.
• Ability to work independently and interact with professionals, trades, and authorities.
• Consulting experience, proposal preparation, and business development preferred.
