Location: Chicago, Illinois office (possibly based in Michigan, Ohio, or greater Chicago area)

What you will do
- Verify and fact-check employment, academic, and professional license information
- Compare self-reported data with public records
- Search and review criminal records, civil lawsuits, press reports, and public data
- Develop relationships with document retrieval companies and maintain investigative methods documentation
- Prepare well-written reports of findings ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and budget adherence
- Stay current on U.S. public records, social media, and open-source investigation techniques
Requirements
- College coursework, Associate's degree or higher with 0-2 years relevant experience, or four years military service with analytical training
- Ability to analyze, evaluate, and summarize data and information
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Excellent organization, writing ability, attention to detail, and commitment to deadlines
- Experience navigating investigative research methodologies, public records portals, and subscription databases desirable
- Ease with complex search strings and Boolean operators
- Written assessment required to demonstrate analytical and writing skills
Nice to have
- Experience with Lexis, Westlaw, PACER, TLO, Accurint
- Familiarity with U.S. public records sources (courts, licensing, property, corporate)
- Foreign language skills
