What you will do

• Design and optimize low and high voltage power distribution systems, including harnesses, fusing, and connectors.
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) and improve modular configuration efficiency.
• Use ECAD tools like Zuken and AutoCAD Electrical to develop vehicle schematics and harness assemblies.
• Perform technical analysis on power, grounding, circuit protection, EMC, signal integrity, and thermal management.
• Collaborate with mechanical, controls, and manufacturing teams to transition designs into production.
• Mentor junior engineers by reviewing designs and guiding them through company standards and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of progressive engineering experience.
• Must be based in or able to work on-site in Livermore, CA.
• Proven experience with wiring harness design and CAD tools (Zuken, Capital, or AutoCAD Electrical).
• Working knowledge of automotive communication protocols including J1939, CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
• Strong understanding of SAE, NFPA, and ISO regulatory standards for heavy-duty vehicles.

Nice to have

• Experience in electrical harness manufacturing or industrial control systems.
• Familiarity with configure-to-order products and modular BOM management.
