What you will do

• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize high-performance database systems for large-scale applications.
• Administer SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, and DynamoDB.
• Improve performance through query optimization, indexing, partitioning, schema design, and data modeling.
• Monitor database health, capacity, scalability, high availability, data integrity, and disaster recovery.
• Automate backups, replication, failover, and database integration into CI/CD workflows.
• Implement database security policies, encryption, access controls, data governance, and GDPR compliance.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.
• Expertise in relational and/or NoSQL databases and strong knowledge of optimization, indexing, partitioning, and replication.
• Experience with performance tuning, query troubleshooting, backup and recovery, failover, and disaster recovery.
• Experience with cloud database services such as AWS RDS, Aurora, Google Cloud Spanner, or Azure SQL.
• Knowledge of Python, Bash, or SQL scripting for automation and data security best practices.
• Ability to work fully onsite from the Lisbon office; relocation support is available.
