What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain high-performance database systems to support large-scale applications.
• Optimize database queries, indexing strategies, and partitioning to enhance overall performance.
• Manage and fine-tune SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and DynamoDB.
• Implement database security policies, encryption, and access control to protect sensitive data.
• Automate database backups, replication, and failover mechanisms.
• Perform capacity planning and ensure compliance with GDPR and other regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Around 4+ years of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) or in a similar role.
• Expertise in relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) and/or NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, DynamoDB).
• Strong knowledge of performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting slow queries.
• Experience with cloud database services such as AWS RDS, Aurora, Google Cloud Spanner, or Azure SQL.
• Knowledge of scripting for automation using Python, Bash, or SQL scripts.
• Must be based in or able to relocate to Lisbon, Portugal for full-time onsite work.
