What you will do

• Build and manage a world-class team of data scientists, providing mentorship and establishing high performance standards.
• Drive product strategy through user behavior analysis, performance metrics deep-dives, and causal inference experimentation.
• Partner with product, strategy, and research teams to develop sophisticated ROI frameworks for customers using real-time data.
• Collaborate with the research team to shape model evaluation frameworks, monitor production performance, and define clinical quality metrics.
• Define and communicate the company's data strategy and complex analyses to cross-functional partners and the executive team.
• Make critical technical infrastructure decisions, including tooling choices and build vs buy tradeoffs for analytics platforms.

Requirements

• MS or PhD in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, computer science, or physics.
• 12+ years of experience in data science or analytics, specifically in product-facing roles driving strategy and execution.
• Advanced proficiency in Python, R, and SQL for large-scale analytics.
• Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Looker, Sigma) and code-based visualization tools (Seaborn, ggplot2).
• Proven track record of building data capabilities and managing teams in rapid growth environments.
• Must be based in or able to work from the San Francisco office (Hybrid).

Nice to have

• Knowledge of healthcare settings, electronic health records (EHR), and healthcare billing.
• Experience in shaping or recruiting for Analytics Engineering functions.
