What you will do

• Architect, design, and build scalable backend services and APIs primarily in Golang using AWS and RDS.
• Lead AI enablement efforts, integrating tools like Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor to enhance team productivity.
• Drive consistency and scalability across a distributed microservices architecture while maintaining reliability.
• Establish and evolve engineering best practices for observability, security, and CI/CD across teams.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate cross-functionally to translate business goals into technical roadmaps.

Requirements

• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong focus on backend development.
• Strong proficiency in Golang and experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
• Expertise with SQL-based RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and optimizing schemas for scale.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems design patterns (e.g., event-driven architecture, transactional outbox).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Must be based in Latin America.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, payments, BNPL, or consumer lending.
• Proficiency in observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or New Relic.
• Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure (Aurora RDS), Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Working knowledge of TypeScript, React, or React Native.
• Familiarity with AI/ML tooling including OpenAI API, LangChain, or Hugging Face.
