What you will do

• Execute a multi-year payments strategy to bring core capabilities in-house and grow giving through innovative use cases.
• Design and implement the end-to-end product lifecycle for payout solutions from ideation to launch.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and external partners to build next-generation payments infrastructure.
• Own critical technical decisions regarding ledgering, money movement, and disbursement.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and pair programming while advocating for codebase improvements.
• Lead complex projects from conception to completion, balancing technical trade-offs with business needs.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in payment systems (Checkout, Payouts, Ledgering, Reconciliation, Interchange, or KYC).
• Deep expertise in architecting scalable services using well-accepted design patterns.
• Strong track record of leading projects from conception to delivery and managing stakeholder communication.
• Experience analyzing and preventing performance problems using tools like New Relic and Sumo Logic.
• Must be located in San Francisco, CA for a hybrid work arrangement.

Nice to have

• Experience with Spring Boot, Kotlin, AWS, Kafka, and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency with GraphQL and relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Prior experience on a large-scale ledgering or money-movement team.
