TL;DR
Senior Accountant (Finance): Managing financial accounting and analysis for Lonely Planet within the travel industry with an accent on revenue close procedures and US GAAP compliance. Focus on performing balance sheet reconciliations, optimizing month-end close activities, and providing financial support for forecasting and annual operating plans.
Location: Hybrid; must be based in South Charlotte, NC (Tuesday through Thursday onsite), with remote work on Mondays and Fridays.
Salary: $85,000 - $100,000 per year

What you will do
- Perform revenue close procedures in accordance with US GAAP, including journal entries and fluctuation analyses.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and manage recurring month-end close activities.
- Review and approve supplier invoices and requisitions for business operations.
- Conduct monthly Capex/CIP reconciliations and provide annual audit support.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and provide support for forecasting and annual operating plans.
- Develop ad hoc business case analysis and financial models to analyze business trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
- 3+ years of relevant accounting experience with a track record of progressive responsibility.
- Proficiency with financial systems, reporting packages, and Microsoft Office products.
- Knowledge of public company accounting and reporting.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and team collaboration skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with inventory accounting (raw materials, WIP, and Finished Goods).
- Experience with Workday, NetSuite, and MySQL.
- Experience with mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
