EHS Specialist (Second Shift): Proactively manage EHS risks in a manufacturing facility, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a safety culture with an accent on risk assessments, audits, inspections, and incident investigations. Focus on implementing mitigation strategies, conducting root-cause analyses, developing improvement plans, and delivering training programs.
Location: Surrey, British Columbia, Canada - 100% onsite presence required, no remote work, second shift 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM
Salary: C$32.21 - C$56.25/hour plus shift premium

What you will do
- Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local EHS regulations including WorkSafeBC and Canada Labour Code.
- Conduct risk assessments, audits, inspections, and draft reports with hazard identification and mitigation strategies.
- Identify EHS program improvements and develop actionable plans.
- Perform complex incident investigations, root-cause analyses, and corrective actions.
- Maintain EHS documentation, records, and compliance reports.
- Prepare and schedule training on emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other topics.
Requirements
- 5-10 years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing, industrial, or electrical environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
- OFA Level 2 (minimum) highly desired
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills
- Ability to manage complex projects, multi-task, and interpret regulations
- Physically able to conduct inspections, lift up to 50 pounds, and prolonged desk work
Nice to have
- Knowledge of safety programs including machine guarding, LOTO, working at heights, powered industrial trucks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHS management software
- Strong incident investigation and technical writing skills
- Experience building collaborative relationships with operations and leadership
