Field Service Technician (Engineering)

Field Service Technician (Engineering): Performing installation and basic commissioning of electrical distribution systems and switchgear in data centers and industrial environments with an accent on technical product support and troubleshooting. Focus on installation of electrical components, performing preventive maintenance, and coordinating with project managers to resolve commissioning issues.

Location: Plano, Texas, United States. Must be willing to travel 75% and work evenings/weekends as needed.

Salary: $40.70 - $52.80 per hour

What you will do

• Install and modify electrical and mechanical components, including panelboard interiors, circuit breakers, bus bars, and control components.
• Perform basic commissioning and testing (visual, ductor, etc.) of switchboards and power products.
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits and networking equipment at customer sites.
• Coordinate with Technical Project Managers and manufacturing facilities to identify and solve product or commissioning issues.
• Execute preventive maintenance and field installations for data center or industrial applications.
• Provide technical product support and coordinate with contractors and clients during project meetings.

Requirements

• Technical degree or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, data center, or field service role (required for Level 3).
• Commissioning of LV/MV electrical switchgear (required for Level 3).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams (required for Level 3).
• Willingness to travel 75% and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently without direct supervision.
