Field Service Engineer (Electrical Power)

Location: Must be based in Northern Virginia, USA (Remote from a local base, but requires travel to customer sites)

Salary: $33.61 - $46.20 USD Hourly

What you will do

• Supervise installation, testing, commissioning, and repair of low voltage distribution gear, transformers, and power equipment.
• Prepare technical reports and test sheets while monitoring spare parts and tools.
• Maintain and enforce safety regulations and health and safety practices at all customer sites.
• Coordinate with Project Management and site personnel to resolve technical issues.
• Provide professional customer service by listening to and addressing client needs.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in electrical power distribution or 5+ years of similar work experience.
• Demonstrated experience with electrical power distribution systems, AC/DC power, and communication protocols.
• Knowledge of UL Standards, including UL67, UL1008, UL10008S, UL60950, UL 891, and UL 1558.
• Ability to read and understand complex electrical schematics.
• Proficiency in using test equipment such as multimeters and current meters.
• Must be based in the Northern Virginia area.

Nice to have

• Military experience.
• Experience with Data Centers or equivalent mission-critical systems.
• 3-5 years of experience in the design of low voltage switchgear assemblies and power distribution equipment.
