What you will do

• Lead the design, analysis, and validation of medium voltage power distribution products, including metal clad and metal enclosed switchgear.
• Manage and mentor a team of engineers and designers, providing career guidance and tracking project timelines.
• Drive on-time performance for New Process Implementation (NPI) projects while minimizing design errors.
• Develop mechanical designs and conduct peer reviews to ensure quality and alignment with project goals.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize designs for manufacturability and adjust design standards.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for the operations team across multiple engineering and manufacturing sites.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (MSME preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in R&D or product development within the power distribution industry.
• Proven track record of leading successful engineering projects and developing new technologies.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of IEEE/ANSI C37.20.2, C37.04, C37.06, C37.09, CSA C22.2 No. 31-M89, and NFPA70E.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with CFD (Computer Fluid Dynamics) or Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Experience working in a design-to-order or custom engineering environment.
• Familiarity with low voltage switchgear, panelboards, or utility systems.
