TL;DR

Lead R&D Engineer (Power Distribution): Leading the design and validation of low voltage power distribution products with an accent on 3D modeling, 2D drafting, and NPI project management. Focus on optimizing manufacturability and cost while ensuring compliance with IEEE/ANSI and NFPA70E standards.

Location: Must be based in Franklin (TN), Tualatin (OR), or Jacksonville (FL)

What you will do

Lead the design, analysis, and validation of low voltage power distribution products and related components.
Manage and mentor a team of engineers and designers, providing career guidance and tracking project timelines.
Oversee New Process Implementation (NPI) projects to ensure compliance with customer specifications and industry standards.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize designs for manufacturability and cost.
Conduct peer reviews and provide technical feedback to improve team output and design quality.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (MSME preferred).
10+ years of experience in R&D or product development within the power distribution industry.
Proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Expertise in sheet metal design and knowledge of IEEE/ANSI, CSA, and NFPA70E design guidelines.
Must be located in or able to work from Tualatin (OR), Franklin (TN), or Jacksonville (FL).

Nice to have

Experience with CFD (Computer Fluid Dynamics) or Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
Experience working in a design-to-order or custom engineering environment.
