What you will do

• Diagnose mechanical and assembly issues through root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Develop 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings to support active product designs.
• Maintain and update mechanical design standards, material specifications, and SOPs.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and electrical engineering teams to resolve line stoppages and quality escapes.
• Lead or support engineering-driven ECNs and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Act as a technical resource for resolving field issues and quality concerns.

Requirements

• Education: BSME or equivalent degree is required.
• Experience: 0–3 years in mechanical design, MOL, or DTO engineering (depending on level).
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of UL, CSA, and NEMA standards (specifically UL 891 / UL 1558).
• Understanding of mechanical systems, tolerances, fasteners, and structural components.
• EIT certification or progression toward PE licensure is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with medium-voltage switchgear or power industry equipment.
• Exposure to Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Understanding of DTO/custom engineering environments.
