TL;DR

Remote based in the US

Salary: $200,000 - $250,000 base + commissions

What you will do

  • Draft, review, and negotiate SaaS, software licensing, professional services, and maintenance agreements.
  • Partner with Sales and Services to drive deals to closure while ensuring compliance.
  • Provide legal guidance on RFPs, government procurement, and contract structures.
  • Develop scalable legal processes and templates to support revenue growth.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives in compliance, sales operations, and risk management.
  • Stay current on laws and trends in SaaS and public sector contracting.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from ABA-accredited US law school
  • Active state bar membership, eligible for California Registered In-House Counsel if not CA-barred
  • 6+ years legal experience, including 3+ years in-house at technology/SaaS company
  • Strong experience negotiating commercial contracts with government entities
  • Solid understanding of SaaS business models and software licensing
  • Ability to manage priorities independently in fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with revenue recognition principles
  • Experience with enterprise software sales and services
  • Exposure to privacy, compliance, or government relations
