Director of Ecommerce (International)

TL;DR

Director of Ecommerce (Shopify/DTC): Launching and scaling international storefronts outside the US with an accent on localization, payments, and logistics integration. Focus on driving conversion, optimizing the Shopify tech stack, and ensuring GDPR compliance across multiple markets.

Location: Remote (most successful if based in Europe, particularly the UK, Netherlands, or Germany) or able to operate in those time zones.

What you will do

• Launch and scale an ecosystem of international storefronts across all markets outside the US.
• Oversee localization, payments, logistics integration, and ongoing site performance.
• Manage and optimize the tech stack, including Shopify plugins and third-party vendors.
• Drive improvements in conversion, AOV, LTV, and nCAC through experimentation and CRO.
• Own international site content and execution to support campaigns and product launches.
• Ensure international site compliance (GDPR+) and a seamless end-to-end fulfillment experience.

Requirements

• 8+ years of ecommerce experience, with 5+ years launching and operating non-US DTC websites.
• Expert-level proficiency with Shopify Markets & Global Payments.
• 5+ years of experience with Shopify plugins and relevant third-party vendors.
• Strong understanding of GDPR and international compliance requirements.
• Experience working for US companies expanding abroad (strongly preferred).
• Experience with subscription-based business models (strongly preferred).

Nice to have

• Experience with retention platforms such as Skio or Recharge.
• Working knowledge of Figma.
• Proficiency with page builders like Webflow, Replo, or Lovable.
