What you will do

• Act as the electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for utility-scale solar and BESS projects across the UK portfolio.
• Review and validate electrical designs from consultants and EPC contractors to ensure they are compliant and fit for purpose.
• Oversee grid connection agreements and validate third-party grid studies, including load flow, fault level, and protection coordination.
• Ensure strict adherence to UK Grid Code, G99/G100, and other relevant technical and regulatory standards.
• Support project delivery from development through construction, energisation, and commissioning, including witnessing substation testing.
• Interface between internal teams, EPC contractors, DNOs/TSOs, and external advisors to resolve technical queries.

Requirements

• 4–8+ years of experience in electrical engineering within the power or renewable energy sector.
• Proven experience with utility-scale solar, BESS, or power infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of MV/HV systems, substations, and grid connection infrastructure.
• Deep familiarity with UK grid connection processes and standards (DNO/TSO, Grid Code, G99/G100).
• Experience in reviewing electrical studies and overseeing the commissioning and energisation of electrical systems.
• Ability to confidently challenge external contractors and consultants on engineering deliverables.
