What you will do

• Lead the design of utility-scale solar PV and BESS systems, including layouts and electrical configurations.
• Optimize designs for maximum energy yield, cost efficiency, and practical constructability.
• Deliver comprehensive DC/AC designs, covering string sizing, inverter selection, and cable routing.
• Manage grid connection designs in accordance with UK Grid Code and G99/G100 standards.
• Produce essential engineering deliverables including site layouts, SLDs, and BoQs for procurement.
• Coordinate with EPC teams to de-risk designs and ensure high-quality handover for construction.

Requirements

• 3-6+ years of experience in solar PV design, specifically for utility-scale projects.
• Proficiency with PV design tools such as PVsyst, AutoCAD, and Helioscope.
• Strong knowledge of DC and AC system design for utility-scale solar.
• Familiarity with UK grid requirements (DNO/TSO, G99/G100).
• Experience in producing professional technical drawings and engineering documentation.
• Ability to support projects located across the UK.

Nice to have

• Experience or understanding of BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) integration.
