Fraud and Risk Manager

Location: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States, and willing to work 5 days/week at our office in New York City

Compensation: $155,000 - $175,000 base salary + equity + benefits

What you will do

• Build fraud detection framework from zero, including payment rulesets, behavioral signals, and operational processes
• Investigate fraud patterns in disputes, account abuse, and trial fraud, proposing remediations
• Define hirify.global-specific fraud vectors like carding, chargeback abuse, and account sharing, building detection logic
• Shape dispute response process, including representment strategy and win rate tracking
• Partner with Engineering and Data to define and validate fraud signals and business logic
• Build fraud KPI dashboards for monitoring and exec reporting
• Write internal fraud operations playbooks and work cross-functionally
• Scale the team as payment integrity grows

Requirements

• 5+ years in fraud analysis, risk operations, or trust & safety at a consumer company, owning a fraud program
• Management experience leading or growing a payment-integrity team or program
• Hands-on Stripe Radar experience or comparable rule-based fraud platform
• SQL and data fluency for investigating anomalies and building monitoring
• Depth in payment dispute lifecycle, chargeback mechanics, and platform differences (Stripe, Apple, Google)
• Track record building detection logic that reduced fraud rates
• Comfort building programs from scratch in ambiguous 0→1 environments

Nice to have

• Experience at a subscription business
• Familiarity with ML-based fraud models or productionizing fraud signals
• Background in AI or consumer creator platforms
