TL;DR

Collection Specialist (Level 3): Managing and improving collections processes to recover outstanding debts while maintaining positive customer relationships, handling the most challenging and high-value accounts. Focus on complex negotiations, settlements, payment plans, data analysis, reporting, compliance, and providing guidance to junior collectors.

What you will do

  • Communicate with customers via phone, email, and correspondence to resolve disputes and negotiate payment arrangements.
  • Handle complex high-value delinquent accounts, track activities, and collaborate with internal teams for timely payments.
  • Negotiate settlements, discounts, or payment plans; escalate high-risk accounts and recommend legal actions.
  • Analyze accounts for trends, generate reports, and provide insights for process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with laws like FDCPA and maintain detailed records of all activities.
  • Mentor and train junior collection staff on complex cases and best practices.

Requirements

  • Fluent German and English min. B2/C1 (2 roles) or Fluent Polish and English min. B2/C1 (1 role)
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or equivalent; at least 3 years in collections
  • MS Office fluency, especially Excel; knowledge of collections software/ERP a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of collections laws/regulations and basic accounting
  • Strong negotiation, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and collaborate in a team
