Engineering Manager - Platform & Infrastructure

What you will do

• Lead three teams (DevOps & Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, Automated Quality Assurance) building shared ownership and eliminating single points of knowledge.
• Consolidate observability stack (Sentry, Kibana, New Relic, OpenTelemetry) for unified monitoring, better signal quality, and cost reduction.
• Design AWS infrastructure for UK/US expansion including multi-region deployments, networking, data residency, and compliance.
• Optimize database and application performance, surfacing risks via tooling and processes.
• Own CircleCI pipelines for speed, reliability, DORA metrics, and cost engineering.
• Manage Playwright-based end-to-end tests, test maintenance, and release quality gates organization-wide.
• Improve developer experience through internal tooling, local setups, and deployment workflows.

Requirements

• Platform & Infrastructure leadership with deep AWS experience (ECS, RDS, networking, multi-region, cost management) in product organizations.
• Hands-on observability consolidation from tool sprawl to unified dashboards and incident ownership.
• Experience managing multi-discipline teams (infrastructure, platform, quality) with focus on development and shared ownership.
• Cost-aware engineering treating cloud/tooling spend as metrics with rationalization experience.
• Automated quality assurance system knowledge (test architecture, flakiness, release gates); Playwright a plus.
• AI-native: Daily use of AI tooling in platform engineering, leading by example.
• Technically credible leadership with architectural judgment, not individual coding.

• PostgreSQL at scale (read replicas, PgBouncer, query analysis).
