Location: Remote (Global), but this role cannot be performed in California or Colorado

What you will do

• Solve fundamental challenges in building scalable, secure, and reliable blockchain systems.
• Conduct feasibility studies and analysis for new protocols, architectures, and feature enhancements.
• Design and author technical specifications and academic papers.
• Develop proofs of concept to validate research ideas.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and business development teams to overcome technical limitations.

Requirements

• Doctorate or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• 1–2 years of R&D experience in academic or industry settings.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, security, or cryptographic research (e.g., formal methods, MPC, system security).
• Must not be located in California or Colorado.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

• Experience or interest in layer 2 technologies.
