Application Engineer - Early Career (Semiconductor)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States

Expected base pay: $94,160–$141,000 per annum, plus eligibility for bonus and equity plans.

What you will do

• Support hirify.global’s AEC PAM4 DSP products for 400G, 800G, and 1.6T Ethernet applications.
• Own customer technical issues through resolution and act as the primary interface with engineering teams.
• Collaborate with Field Application Engineers, Product Line Managers, marketing, engineering, and sales teams to support design wins.
• Review customer schematics and layouts, perform cable bring-up and debugging, and manage technical issue tracking.
• Provide remote or on-site troubleshooting and support customer laboratory and field trials.
• Analyze customer target markets and application environments to provide structured technical guidance and feedback.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• 0–2 years of experience.
• Experience with C and Python.
• Strong understanding of analog and digital circuits and system-level hardware.
• Proficiency with high-speed oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic or protocol analyzers, and traffic generators.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and prioritization skills; willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.

Nice to have

• Application engineering experience, especially resolving customer issues.
• Familiarity with high-speed PCB layout, signal integrity, board assembly, and manufacturing.
• Hands-on SerDes TX and RX validation experience.
• Experience designing or debugging embedded microcontroller systems, preferably 32-bit ARM Cortex-M.
