Structural Water Engineer

TL;DR

Structural Water Engineer: Design of structures supporting water purification and treatment facilities with an accent on structural analysis, calculations, and preparation of drawings for resilient water infrastructure. Focus on supervising engineering teams, leading complex projects up to $100M, performing construction phase duties, and coordinating with architects and other disciplines.

Location: Overland Park, KS; Houston, TX; Cary, NC; Phoenix, AZ (US). Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days based on manager discretion. Relocation eligible.

What you will do

• Execute complex structural analysis, calculations, sketches, and drawings for water/wastewater treatment plants and industrial facilities.
• Supervise structural engineers and technicians in preparing drawings and specifications.
• Lead production teams as responsible charge for projects, including construction phase duties like site visits, RFIs, and submittal reviews.
• Perform project administration: fee estimates, budget/schedule monitoring, change management, and quality control.
• Coordinate with architects and other disciplines; provide guidance on standards, codes, and policies.
• Implement resource management and support continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from accredited program; active engineering registration/licensure for EOR requirements.
• Minimum 5 years related work experience.
• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding (background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records).

Nice to have

• Master of Engineering/Science from ABET-accredited program.
• Familiarity with IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC, ACI 530.
• Proficiency in RISA 3D, STAADPro, SAP 2000, Bluebeam, ProjectWise, AutoCAD, Revit.
