TL;DR

Technical Sales Representative (Analytical Chemistry): Sell SPE consumables and instruments to CRO, pharmaceutical, academic, and government accounts in Midwest territory with an accent on discovering customer needs, providing hands-on method development, and achieving revenue targets. Focus on expanding customer relationships, demonstrating products, and collaborating with applications scientists on challenging SPE methods.

Location: Fully remote from Greater Chicago area, covering Midwest territory. 60-70% travel required (3-5 days/week in field, 1-2 overnights/week)

What you will do

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue, profitability, and product volume targets.
  • Discover customer problems and unmet needs to develop tailored solutions ensuring success.
  • Expand customer knowledge of products via sales calls, seminars, hands-on demos, and training.
  • Develop new customer relationships and grow existing accounts.
  • Provide first-line support with hands-on SPE sample prep method development and troubleshooting at customer sites.
  • Collaborate with applications scientists on advanced methods, collect customer feedback, and generate quotes.
  • Maintain accurate CRM documentation, sales forecasts, and represent at conferences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in science-related field or equivalent
  • Excellent verbal, written, active listening, negotiation, and persuasion skills
  • Strong time management, self-starter mindset, organizational skills, and ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and CRM (Salesforce)
  • Team collaboration skills
  • 60-70% travel for first year, then 50-60%; 3-5 days/week in field

Nice to have

  • Chemistry laboratory experience with hirify.global or related tools
  • Proven sales and account management track record
  • Experience selling scientific equipment
  • Success with complex pricing for government/granting agencies
