Java Software Engineer (Backend)

Location: Poland (hybrid/remote)
We’re looking for an experienced Java Software Engineer to join our team working on alarm and video surveillance platforms used by 100,000+ customers across Europe.

About the Project:
The platform enables end-users to remotely control alarm systems (controls, video streaming, statistics).
Internal teams use tools for system monitoring, customer support, configuration, and more.
Many ongoing and planned initiatives: adding new device support, redesigning major system components, and expanding functionality.
Requirements:
Strong experience in distributed backend systems development and adherence to best practices.
Several years of experience in high-level software design.
Confident working with SQL and NoSQL databases, message brokers, cloud, and microservices.
High attention to code quality (both your own and others’).
Willingness to maintain and refactor legacy code (some services are in PHP — experience with PHP is a big plus).
Initiative to propose and implement improvements, both technical and business-related.

AWS, Kubernetes
RabbitMQ, MySQL, Cassandra, Redis
PHP, Node.js
SCRUM methodology. Team of 10+ members from different countries.
