PHP Software Engineer II (Laravel): Design and deliver scalable backend systems for ’s AI-powered Workforce Management solution for forecasting, scheduling, and agent performance tracking with an accent on API design, event schemas, data models, and system optimization. Focus on building high-throughput services, tackling technical debt, ensuring reliability under heavy load, and driving performance improvements.
Location: Hybrid in Krakow, Poland (must attend office 2 days per week)
Salary: 179,000–269,000 PLN (annualized base, Poland)

What you will do
- Write, test, review, and maintain high-quality PHP code and services.
- Deliver end-to-end across SDLC: design, implement, test, deploy, and operate features.
- Lead squad initiatives, collaborate with product and ops teams to build robust solutions.
- Drive technical decisions: design APIs, event schemas, data models; recommend tradeoffs.
- Refactor complex components, optimize performance, scalability, reliability, and cost.
- Mentor via code reviews, contribute to documentation, on-call, and hiring.
Requirements
- 3+ years building production PHP services (Laravel or similar)
- Experience with Docker, CI/CD, cloud deployment (AWS preferred)
- Relational DBs (MySQL, PostgreSQL), performant queries, unit/integration testing (PHPUnit, Codeception)
- RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, eventual consistency, retries, failure modes
- Observability tools, metrics, logs for improvements
- Clear communicator partnering across teams; growth mindset

- Event-driven systems, Kafka in production
- ClickHouse, Swoole, Laravel Octane
