Electrical Engineer

What you will do

• Design electrical power, lighting, life safety, security, fire alarm, access control, and low-voltage systems including CCTV integration.
• Develop detailed drawings, schematics, one-line diagrams, and specifications.
• Manage projects from concept to completion, coordinating with architects, mechanical engineers, and stakeholders while overseeing timelines, budgets, and resources.
• Perform engineering calculations like load, lighting, short-circuit, and arc flash hazard analysis.
• Conduct site inspections, provide technical guidance on system selections, and resolve construction issues.
• Interface with clients for requirements, proposals, reports, and to ensure satisfaction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in K-12 design
• On track for Professional Engineer (PE) license in Michigan or via reciprocity
• Proficient in electrical design software, lighting calculation software, and Revit
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations
• Ability to travel 30–40% throughout Michigan; must live in the state

Nice to have

• Experience with sustainable design, energy-efficient systems, smart grids, renewables, or energy storage.
• Knowledge of Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Managing client relationships and business development.
