Senior Electrical Engineer

Salary: $180,000–$210,000

What you will do

• Lead design of electrical power, lighting, life safety, security, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems including CCTV integration.
• Develop detailed drawings, schematics, one-line diagrams, specifications, and perform engineering calculations like load, lighting, short-circuit, and arc flash analysis.
• Manage projects from concept to completion, overseeing timelines, budgets, resources, and quality control.
• Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, stakeholders, and clients; conduct site inspections and resolve construction issues.
• Specify lighting controls, luminaires, standby power, auxiliary systems; review and seal engineering documents.
• Mentor junior engineers, lead design reviews, prepare proposals and presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
• Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably K-12 design
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Michigan required or obtainable via reciprocity
• Proficiency in Revit, electrical design software, lighting calculation software
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, regulations; problem-solving, communication, organizational skills
• Ability to travel to project sites within Michigan as needed
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office; Bluebeam preferred
