What you will do

• Support cross-functional engineering efforts using system-level knowledge of products and technologies.
• Serve as primary systems engineering contact for Japan customer projects, coordinating with the local Japan team.
• Translate Japan-specific regulatory, safety, and customer requirements into technical specifications for AVs.
• Develop and document Japan-specific Operational Design Domains (ODD).
• Analyze real-world and simulation data to identify trends, issues, and improvement insights.
• Develop and execute system test and validation plans to ensure performance and reliability.
• Lead process improvements and conduct FMEA to resolve findings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
• 5+ years in automotive engineering on software, hardware, or combined products; 2+ years on autonomous driving systems.
• Knowledge of automotive and AV technologies.
• Experience supporting Japan-based projects.
• Experience with Python, SQL, and data analysis tools (Pandas, NumPy, Spark).

Nice to have

• Masters degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in a startup.
• Japanese language experience.
