What you will do

• Design, implement, and operate scalable bare metal provisioning platforms focused on OpenStack Ironic.
• Own physical infrastructure lifecycle through automated discovery, provisioning, cleaning, deprovisioning, and state management.
• Manage integrations between Ironic and OpenStack services like Nova, Neutron, Glance, Keystone, and Placement.
• Build automation for hardware onboarding, firmware configuration, deployment workflows, validation, and recovery using IaC tools.
• Troubleshoot provisioning pipelines, PXE/iPXE, BMC interfaces, image deployment, and hardware compatibility issues.
• Act as 3rd/4th line escalation for incidents, perform root cause analysis, support upgrades, and collaborate with teams on infrastructure delivery.
• Contribute to OpenStack Ironic community through code, testing, and discussions to shape hirify.global's bare metal strategy.

Requirements

• US location.
• Strong Linux systems administration and troubleshooting experience.
• Deep hands-on experience deploying, operating, upgrading, and troubleshooting large-scale OpenStack environments.
• Strong specialist knowledge of OpenStack Ironic and bare metal provisioning ecosystem (PXE/iPXE, DHCP, TFTP/HTTP boot, BMC, RAID, firmware).
• Strong experience with out-of-band management (Redfish, IPMI) and automation tools like Ansible.
• Strong Python and Bash skills.
• Experience operating production infrastructure at scale with focus on reliability and safety; ability to collaborate across teams.

Nice to have

• Experience contributing to upstream open-source communities (OpenStack, Ironic, Metal3).
• Experience with GPU server platforms, hardware qualification, or large-scale bare metal clouds.
• Knowledge of Neutron and networking for provisioning.
