TL;DR

Head of Talent Acquisition (Defense Tech): Own and scale the end-to-end talent acquisition function for a mission-driven defense-technology company with an accent on cleared and clearance-eligible hiring, compliance-driven processes, and strategic workforce planning. Focus on building scalable recruiting systems, optimizing TA tooling, and partnering with executives to align hiring with business growth priorities.

Location: U.S. citizenship required due to government contracts. Must reside in approved hiring hubs: DC/Maryland/Virginia, Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill NC, Denver/Colorado Springs CO, Dallas/Fort Worth TX

Salary: $200,000-$225,000

What you will do

  • Own company-wide talent acquisition strategy aligned to business priorities, growth, and budget
  • Advise executives on workforce planning, headcount, and hiring tradeoffs
  • Lead hiring for technical, go-to-market, G&A roles with focus on cleared positions
  • Build and scale recruiting processes, systems, and tooling including ATS and vendor management
  • Drive metrics like time-to-hire, pipeline health, and quality of hire for continuous improvement
  • Develop hiring manager capabilities through training and close partnership

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Must reside in approved U.S. hiring hubs (DC/MD/VA, NC Triangle, Denver/CO Springs, Dallas/Ft Worth)
  • Ability to translate business strategy into executable hiring roadmaps
  • Strong judgment on speed, quality, compliance tradeoffs
  • Exceptional stakeholder management with executives
  • Comfort in ambiguity with bias toward action and ownership

Nice to have

  • 8+ years TA experience including leadership
  • Proven cleared hiring in defense, aerospace, or gov-tech
  • Experience scaling ATS, tooling, analytics
  • Track record partnering with executives
  • Managing vendors, agencies, RPO
  • Startup or high-growth experience
