Engineering Project Team Leader (Hydraulic Systems)

TL;DR

Engineering Project Team Leader (Hydraulic Systems): Driving complex engineering projects from concept to completion for earthmoving products with an accent on hydro-mechanical and electro-hydraulic systems including steering, braking, implement, fan, and hystat. Focus on developing design concepts through optimization, virtual product development tools, validation testing, and cross-functional collaboration.

Location: Peoria, IL (onsite five days a week). Domestic relocation offered. Visa sponsorship available. Up to 10% domestic and international travel.

What you will do

• Lead organization-wide initiatives with cross-functional teams on hydraulic system projects.
• Develop and optimize design concepts using VPD tools, lab testing, and on-machine validation.
• Mentor global teams of system, controls, VPD, and component engineers.
• Collaborate with supply chain, suppliers, customers, dealers, and product groups on NPI, NTI, and improvements.
• Identify and engage hirify.global subject matter experts for design and development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics preferred).
• Experience in product design and development, especially mechanical & electrical systems with emphasis on hydraulics.
• Project management skills to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects.
• Influencing expertise to impact decisions across organizations.
• Team management and troubleshooting technical problems in product development.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in hydraulic systems or components.
• >10 years in design/validation of hydraulic components (pumps, motors, valves, cylinders) for mobile equipment.
• Simulation and analytical methods for hydraulic performance.
• Leading global cross-functional teams.
• Business acumen and experience using AI for engineering improvements.
