Application Engineer II (Electrification)

TL;DR

Application Engineer II (Electrification): Commissioning test systems and integrating subsystems for E-Drive including battery testing, emulation, inverter, eMotor, and eAxle with an accent on troubleshooting complex problems and developing solutions. Focus on implementing and tuning control loops, custom tests, and providing customer training and sign-off.

Location: Ontario, Canada Must have unrestricted authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis. Employer will not sponsor work visa. Travel required approximately 30-45%.

What you will do

• Act as liaison and company representative with customers.
• Commission test cells: set-up and troubleshoot systems, implement control loops, integrate equipment, set-up safeties, create documentation, provide training, obtain sign-off.
• Write and implement custom tests.
• Provide sales and project engineering technical support.
• Offer help desk consultation and develop training presentations.
• Travel to customer sites and handle other assigned tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 3+ years related experience in electrification/electronics, testing, or power electronics.
• Understanding of instrumentation, electrical processes, testing methods.
• Able to read electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Strong software adaptation and modification skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of PC operations, MS Windows, computer networking.

Nice to have

• Experience in test automation equipment.
