Field Service Technician (Electrical Engineering)

What you will do

• Commission power products and control systems, integrating them with third-party equipment such as generators, UPS, and SCADA systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, field installations, and system modifications.
• Provide technical product support and troubleshoot complex electrical issues at customer sites.
• Conduct engineering site surveys to determine the scope of field work.
• Program and service complex automation and protective relaying systems.
• Coordinate part replacements with project engineers and managers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience with power generation.
• 2+ years of experience in field services working with complex electrical systems.
• Hands-on experience in servicing, maintaining, and repairing power equipment.
• Valid passport and work permit for both Canada and the United States.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Nice to have

• Experience with protection relays (Basler, GE, or Schweitzer) and engine controllers (Woodward & ComAp).
• Ability to modify HMI screens and PLC ladder logic programming in the field.
