Location: Permanent remote work from home (AEST timezone, Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM with 1 hour unpaid break)

Fast-growing multi-entity transport and logistics group seeking to strengthen its finance operations.

What you will do

• Lead full month-end close within 5 working days and prepare consolidated financial statements and board-ready management reports with variance analysis.
• Handle Australian tax compliance including BAS working papers, GST coding, PAYG, Fuel Tax Credits, and audit-ready documentation.
• Prepare weekly cashflow forecasts, rolling 13-week projections, budgets, and financial models in Excel.
• Implement internal controls, segregation of duties, fraud prevention, and monitor financial anomalies.
• Drive automation using Xero, workflow improvements, and system integrations for efficiency.

Requirements

• CPA qualified or equivalent with minimum 5 years experience supporting Australian clients
• Strong knowledge of GST, BAS, PAYG, Australian tax standards, and compliance
• Advanced proficiency in Xero and strong Microsoft Excel skills for modeling and forecasting
• Experience with board-level reporting, internal controls, fraud prevention, and high-volume reconciliations
• Discipline in daily reconciliations, deadlines, accuracy; own computer and reliable internet required
• Independent Contractor: responsible for own taxes and benefits
